Friday the 13th 2017 held no fears for PALZ-Professionals with Alzheimer’s.
Hosted by CEO, Mr Mark Stone AM, the Board room of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the venue for the state-wide launch of PALZ-Professionals with Alzheimer’s across Victoria.
MC David Mann OAM, of Mann Promotions, balanced the seriousness of the message of dementia, with caring and sensitive introductions of speakers during proceedings.
Attendees included representatives of Alzheimer’s Australia, Headspace, OC Connections, National Australia Bank, National Disability Insurance Scheme, BUPA, Rotary International, Halcyon Legal, Wheelton Group, and the Order of Australia Association.

Speakers spoke on the structure of PALZ, the pilot group in Geelong, the importance of PALZ from a medical perspective, and the unexpected benefits to the speakers. John Roth crystallised the importance of PALZ to those who had come from high-achieving backgrounds, such as he had, when he spoke of his personal experiences of the profound loss of dignity and self-respect.
Mr Mark Stone AM then announced to attendees that the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, would assist in providing invaluable Board room experiences, and corporate speakers, for the upcoming Melbourne-based PALZ group.
Board members Jodi Heath, Tony Still, and Jason Trethowan, distributed the first PALZ Annual Report, kindly printed by supporters Geelong Printing, whilst Chairman Cathy Roth OAM, thanked all in attendance, and presented framed PALZ Certificates of Appreciation to MC David Mann OAM and to the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the CEO Mark Stone AM.
